Dilhorne Pools

Two beautifully landscaped lakes set in the grounds of the original Dilhorne Hall estate exclusively owned and managed by the society.

Recently renamed from the rather unimaginative pools one and two to Yates' pool and Eaton's pool in honour of long serving and dedicated club officials.

These heavily stocked waters are a dream for all disciplines of angling, A good head of carp, with several up to and over twenty pounds can be caught on a variety of methods, Boilies will produce plenty of action but traditional methods will also score well.

Tench to eight pounds have been caught and there is an incredible density of bream in both pools that regularly fall to method feeder tactics with a lake record of nine pounds caught several years ago, fish between two and four pounds are commonplace. Quality Crucians are present in both pools and although quite rare a fish of three pounds plus is on the cards.

For the predator angler there are Pike well into double figures and huge perch to be caught on lure and dead bait methods. Huge shoals of silverfish complete the diversity of the pools and are often ignored in favour of the larger specimens but the traditional roach angler or matchman will be kept active with hemp and caster accounting for superb sport and a two pounds roach is not an impossible target.
