River Blithe at Loxley
A lovely river stretch that begins at the glorious stone road bridge on the A518.
Chub are the order of the day here and impressive multiple captures have been made using mashed bread and flake in autumn and winter, shallow riffles give way to nice bends and overhanging bushes that will all produce action from fish up to four pounds, dace have been caught in numbers here and a light stick float will do the trick for this species.
Grayling and wild brownies are numerous and some quite surprising catches have been recorded including tiger trout, an exotic species that are presumably escapees from the nearby Blithfield reservoir.
